What are Pepper Berries?

Pepper Berries, also known as Mountain Pepper, is an evergreen shrub that grows in the alpine regions of Tasmania and south-east mainland of Australia.
The berries have a bright purple or dark blue colour with intense heat, complex fruity flavour and sweet aroma. They are characterised by their versatility and are hotter than conventional peppercorns.

What can I use pepper berries for?

Pepper Berries are often used as a culinary spice. It can be found in Aboriginal cuisine as a food flavouring, as well as in traditional medicine.

How are they grown?

This species is fairly hardy, it can survive sub-zero temperatures, exposed terrain and windy sites.

In our orchard it’s grown naturally and harvested by hand with the utmost care so it makes it from us safely to you.
